Go out and drink, but avoid alcohol

Some alcoholic beverages contain some carbohydrates. Beer, wines, and mixed drinks have calories in the form of carbohydrates. In addition to that, part of the food you eat is largely metabolized by liver enzymes. And the liver, as you probably remember from high school health class, also metabolizes the alcohol you consume.

The reality is that the liver’s capacity is limited, and if it’s busy metabolizing alcohol, it doesn’t do a great job of digesting food. So if you tend to drink often, it keeps your liver pretty busy to get rid of the alcohol. And not so busy eliminating the excess food you ate. As a result, you find yourself with a spare tire hanging from your waist for all to see.

To remedy this situation, when you plan to go out with your friends, try drinking a club soda or fruit juice. That way, your liver doesn’t have to work overtime and you can be your friend’s lifesaver by being the designated driver. Another thing you can do to help lose weight is eat.
